The THANE TEC 2500/2505 is an Ultra high performance coating system that has outstanding abrasion, chemical and UV/weathering resistance. The THANE TEC system has been specially designed to perform in a harsh pool or waterpark environment. The system is also "self-priming" eliminating the need for an extra priming step over fiberglass,steel and concrete.   

The Thane-Tec 2505 is supplied in a variety of standard colors. The Thane-Tec is available as a clear coat that can be custom colored by an experienced end user or for added protection the colored TT 2500 system

Epoxy CP 715 Fill Coat

 The cp 715 is designed to prime concrete, fill in deep wear areas prior to topcoating with the THANE TEC 2500 series 

Thane-Tec 2500 Color Coat

 The TT2500 is designed as the color coat and provides outstanding color gloss and abrasion resistance

Thane-Tec 2505 Clear Coat

 The TT2505 is similar to the 2500 but is a clear system. It increases the properties of the TT2500 or can be custom colored by yourself

What you will Need:

 

3500 psi pressure washer (minimum)

Zep stripper

Simple Green

220 grit sandpaper / D.A. Sander

Plastic Bristle Scrub Brush

Bondo Polyester Filler

 

THANE TEC 2500/ 2505 WATERSLIDE PREP GUIDELINES

Depending on the condition of your waterslide project, a thorough and complete preparation process is required to assure maximum bond and long term performance. If waxes or polishes were used on the waterslide, extra preparation is necessary to prevent adhesion failure of the coating system. Follow the complete 10 Step process if waxes or polishes were used during the lifetime of the slide If no waxes or polishes were applied, follow Steps 5 – 10 only.

Step 1: Slide Evaluation

Examine the surface condition of the slide, especially if waxes or polishes were applied. Wax/Polished Waterslide Steps 2 -10 Wax/Polish Free Waterslide Steps 5 – 10

Step 2:Power Wash Slide

Using 3500 psi (minimum) power washer using Simple Green to completely remove any waxy residue from the slide surface. Keep power washer at close proximity to slide surface.

Step 3: DeWax Slide

Using Zep Wax Remover at high concentration, apply directly with a soft plastic bristle brush. Scrub wax off applying wax remover heavily to assure wax is totally removed.

Step 4:Power Wash

Slide Using 3500 psi (minimum) power washer using Simple Green to completely remove any waxy residue from the slide surface. Keep power washer at close proximity to slide surface.

Step 5: Final Power Wash

Using 3500 psi (minimum) power washer with water only, wash all remaining detergents and wax remover from surface. Keep power washer wand in close proximity to slide surface.

Step 6: Sand/Scuff Surface

Using 220-400 grit D.A. Sander, scuff surface and remove and loose or flaking gel- coat. Entire surface of slide must be completely sanded to assure maximum bond and long term performance.

Step 7: Power Wash Slide

Using 3500 psi power washer (minimum) with water only, completely remove any dust and contamination from the sanding process. Keep power washer wand in close proximity of slide surface.

Step 8: Repairs/Final Inspection

Repair only deep scratches, gouges or defects with standard slide repair procedures. (Bondo may be used)

Step 9:Ready to Paint

Assure slide is completely dry and free of any surface contaminants that have appeared. (dust/leavers/droppings) Blow off areas to coat prior to spraying or rolling with dry, compressed air.
